Mobile ads are a fair exchange for free music

A survey by advisory group KPMG and the Mobile Entertainment Forum (MEF) has revealed that almost half of all mobile users would accept advertising on their mobile phones in exchange for free music downloads. The survey, which contacted more than 4,000 people in 19 countries, said that 49% of consumers would accept ads on their mobiles in return for songs. It also showed that 30% of mobile users had bought music at least once on their mobile phone in the past 12 months, with two-thirds of them happy with the experience. It reported a similar figure with video clips: 38% of consumers had watched mobile video, with more than half being pleased with the result. [KPMG; MEF]
