Mobile application revenue to come from data, not sales

Juniper Research says direct and indirect revenue from mobile applications is expected to exceed $25 billion (£17 billion) by 2014. New application store launches will help the growth in revenue, although – in the longer term – operators will benefit more from the data revenue generated by applications than from application sales.
