Scientists in Florida have found that radiation from mobile phones may protect against Alzheimer's disease.
Tests were carried out on mice that had been genetically altered to develop beta-amyloid plaques in their brains. These indicate Alzheimer's disease. Mice exposed to mobile phones as young adults were protected from memory impairment, while older mice with memory problems appeared to recover from their impairment.
The research could lead to electro-magnetic treatment being developed to prevent and treat Alzheimer's disease in humans. [Sources: BBC News; ScienceDaily.com]
