Mobile video streaming service Qik, which was acquired by Skype earlier this year, has released a desktop application. It’s part of a new chargeable ‘premium’ suite of services.

The Qik Desktop application lets users organise and share their mobile-recorded videos using a PC. There’s no physical connection between PC and phone; everything’s done in the cloud.

Qik Premium includes unlimited sending of video messages, unlimited video storage, priority support and the desktop app. (As usual, ‘unlimited’ is subject to terms and conditions). It’ll cost $4.99+VAT per month after a free 30-day trial.
