Mobile web sites 30% slower than conventional sites
A benchmarking exercise by web application company Gomez and mobile domain registrar dotMobi has found that mobile web sites are 30% slower when compared to conventional computer-based web browsing. (So, for example, a page that would take three seconds to load on a PC would take almost four seconds on a phone. Hmmm. Doesn’t seem so bad when you put it like that. Oh, and the benchmarking favours .mobi domains). [Gomez.com; dotMobi.mobi]
