A number of people who’ve brought the new Apple iPhone 6 Plus have taken to social media to complain about the ease with which their smartphone appears to bend.

It’s claimed that the thinner chassis of the largest-ever iPhone is making it much easier for users to inadvertently bend their new phones if they put them in the front or back pockets of trousers. This issue has been nicknamed ‘bendgate’ by some, although it’s notable that a similar claim was made about the iPhone 5 when this launched two years ago.

But this isn’t the only public criticism being faced by Apple. The company withdrew the latest update to its operating system - iOS 8.0.1 - after reports that it stopped the TouchID fingerprint sensor from working on iPhones and also prevented devices from making or receiving phone calls. Customers are being told to revert to the original version of iOS 8 until iOS 8.0.2 is ready to download.
