Mobile software management company Red Bend says its software has now been embedded in more than a billion mobile devices.
The first Red Bend enabled mobile device was the Siemens Mobile S65 phone, which started shipping at the end of 2005. In the five years since then, Red Bend’s software products have been included in more than 700 different devices from companies including Samsung, LG, ZTE, Sony Ericsson, Motorola and Sharp. Most recently, Q4 2010 saw its software shipping in 89 million mobile devices.
Red Bend’s products are used for remote ‘over the air’ management of mobile devices and applications.
Yoram Salinger, CEO of Red Bend, said “Reaching 1 billion Red Bend-Enabled devices in only five years is a remarkable achievement. It is a tribute to the trust our customers and partners around the world place in us to help them manage so many devices for their consumers. And it is a credit to our employees and their dedication to innovation and service.”
We spoke to Richard Kinder, Red Bend’s Vice President of Technology and New Business, in a podcast last year. You can listen to the podcast here or read an edited transcript here. |
