Motorola has entered into an agreement with semiconductor company Kopin Corporation to develop a hands-free computer that’s worn as a headset. The device will offer full voice, audio and PC capabilities with a virtual 15-inch monitor.
As well as providing hands-free remote control and instant access to digital information, the headset computer will also be able to deliver internet services and streaming video.
The two companies have already created a Golden-i concept device that was demonstrated earlier this year.
Tom Bianculli , Senior Director of Emerging Business at Motorola Solutions, said “We believe this computer headset will be a game-changing solution for mobile workforces and represents the future in wearable computing. As the leader in enterprise mobile computing, Motorola Solutions is working with Kopin to explore new innovations and cutting-edge technologies that will help our customers continue to improve their operational efficiency and increase their productivity.”
