Motorola Mobility acquires SunUp Digital Systems to help manage video content

Motorola Mobility says it’s acquired California-based SunUp Digital Systems. SunUp’s software helps with the delivery and management of premium video across television, smartphones and tablet devices. It’s expected to be used within Motorola Medios, Motorola’s own ‘multi-screen’ software system for Internet TV.

Praveen Sharma, president and CEO of SunUp Digital Systems, said “The ability to deliver content on multiple platforms while ensuring protection of content owner rights is paramount. We’re excited to be joining Motorola Mobility and to be integrating our software within the Medios platform to offer contract and rights management, resource management, and linear and non-linear content to service providers as part of Motorola’s end-to-end content delivery portfolio.”
