Music search service Shazam creates 'Golden Tag' promo with Take That

Music discovery service Shazam has launched a Take That 'Golden Tag' promotion in the UK, offering the chance to attend a special Take That performance and meet the group.

The promotion runs from 8th October to 21st November 2010 and is open to registered Shazam users who use the Shazam iPhone and iPod touch application. Participants then ‘Shazam’ Take That's new single, The Flood, whenever they hear it. This’ll enter them into the Golden Tag promotion and will also offer them the chance to pre-order the track on iTunes.

Over 75 million people use Shazam, which has evolved significantly since its launch using the 2580 short code in the UK. As well as using a mobile phone to identify a music track, Shazam users can also use the service to buy tracks, book tickets to gigs and view music videos.

Andrew Fisher, CEO of Shazam, said “Shazam takes people on a unique mobile journey, from music discovery to exclusive must-have content and now, one of a kind experiences. The 'Golden Tag' will take one lucky Shazamer from listening to Take That's new track on their mobile to meeting the band for real. That's got to be the ultimate musical journey!"
