HTC says it’s appointed Benjamin Ho as its new Chief Marketing Officer. He’ll join the company in January and will replace John Wang, the current CMO. It’s also changing the role of Jason Mackenzie, currently president of global sales and marketing, who will now be focussed on HTC’s global sales strategy.
Mr Ho was previously vice president of business strategy & marketing at Taiwan mobile network Far EasTone Telecommunications and has previously worked at Motorola Asia Pacific, BBDO Greater China and Young and Rubicam International.
He’ll take the lead of HTC’s ‘Marketing 2.0’ project, which is designed to refocus the company’s work “around holistic marketing and mass-market brand outreach”.
Peter Chou, CEO of HTC, said “We welcome Benjamin to HTC and look forward to integrating the global marketing capabilities he brings to the company. Our growing brand, centered around our world-class innovation and design capabilities, will provide a global platform not just for HTC, but for Taiwan culture and innovation.”
