Chinese telecommunications manufacturer ZTE has announced a flagship Android smartphone with a 4.3-inch display screen.

The ZTE Skate uses the Android 2.3 operating system with an 800MHz processor. It also includes a 5-megapixel Bluetooth, A-GPS, hardware compass, and G-sensor. The device is expected to be available from May 2011.

Other smartphones available from ZTE include the Android-based Amigo slide-open phone, the Android Blade and the F952 handset running Brew MP.

Last year the company was reported to have shipped 60 million units worldwide.
