New free online service lets small businesses manage BlackBerry devices

BlackBerryResearch In Motion has announced a free online service called BlackBerry Management Center. It’s designed for businesses with up to 100 BlackBerry smartphones. The business owner can automatically back-up information, remotely lock the handset, search for lost devices and remotely wipe content.

Alan Panezic, Vice President of Enterprise Product Management at Research In Motion, said “We are pleased to introduce RIM’s latest cloud service designed specifically for small businesses. BlackBerry Management Center is a free service and an effective way to centrally manage and support employees’ BlackBerry smartphones in the cloud.”

BlackBerry Management Center can be used with company-owned or privately-owned devices.
