Tecmobile, a UK-based handset manufacturer, has revealed a portfolio of nine new mobile phones. The company is an Original Design Manufacturer, which means these devices will be available for rebranding or customisation by distributors, retailers and network operators. Santok Enterprises, the company behind the new tecmobile brand, has been in the mobile industry since 1993.
All of the handsets are designed, tested and manufactured in-house. Unlike many other ODMs, tecmobile is able to produce niche products in lower volumes as well as having the capability to produce larger quantities.
Mark Ormerod, the recently-appointed Managing Director at tecmobile, said “Our very broad product offering gives distributors, retailers, network operators and MVNOs an attractive alternative. tecmobile products are comparable to the well-known brands in terms of quality, style and function. Without the large volume requirements typically enforced by these big brand manufacturers we are much more responsive and able to offer the industry a more compelling bespoke ranging opportunity.”
New tecmobile handsets include entry-level, rugged, big button and Android smartphone devices.
Alongside the mobile device launch, the company also presented a range of six new ‘tecdesk’ desktop mobile phones. These combine the functionality of a fixed-line phone with the benefits of 3G mobile technology, requiring no installation or telephone line.
