New Shazam iPhone app supports charitable work

A few days ago we interviewed Andrew Fisher, CEO of music recognition service Shazam, for this week’s podcast.

He mentioned a new application that would soon be available – and sure enough it’s arrived. (SHAZAM) RED is an Apple iPhone and iPod touch application that supports the Global Fund to fight AIDS in Africa. 20% of the £2.99 purchase price goes to the campaign; the application itself has a special red icon and contains the same music discovery features as Shazam Encore along with specific content about the fund-raising campaign. It’s the first mobile application in the RED product portfolio.

Further Shazam application releases will follow in the next few months.
