New Vizz Africa MVNO targets African communities in the UK

Vizz Mobile, part of the QiComm telecoms group, has announced a virtual mobile network called Vizz Africa.

Vizz Africa is a prepaid SIM-only service specifically designed to let UK customers communicate with friends and relatives in Africa. It follows the launch earlier this year of Dialog Vizz, a QiComm company that targets the UK’s Sri Lankan communities.

As well as offering voice calls, text messages and data, Vizz Africa also lets users transfer airtime credit from a phone in the UK to a customer in Africa.

Pat Nabhan, CEO of QiComm, said “The African community in the UK is naturally conscious of the cost of getting in touch with their loved ones back home, but they also want reliable, high quality services and a convenient means of credit transfer. They are natural MVNO customers but that doesn't mean they should have to put up with text message delivery failures, dropped calls and patchy quality of service.”
