No problem for BlackBerry services in UAE after 'collaboration' from RIM

The Telecommunications Regulatory Authority (TRA) in the United Arab Emirates says BlackBerry services can continue to operate as normal because they're now compliant with the UAE's telecommunications regulatory framework. Certain BlackBerry services had been threatened with closure this month after security concerns were raised in August.

In a statement, the TRA said it "would like to acknowledge the positive engagement and collaboration of Research In Motion (RIM) in reaching this regulatory compliant outcome."

UAE network operators Du and Etilsat have both confirmed their services will remain uninterrupted.
