Nokia plans software fix for Lumia battery life

Nokia is planning a software update to resolve battery problems with some versions of its Lumia 800 smartphone. The company says an update is already being rolled out and another is scheduled for early next year.

Although there’s no problem with the physical battery on Nokia’s Windows Phone flagship device, a software issue has prevented the handset from using the full battery capacity in some cases.

Last month Apple released a software update that was designed to help cure a battery life problem with the iOS5 operating system on the iPhone 4S.
