Wireless communications consultancy iGR has published research that shows 42% of US consumers use their mobile phones in restrooms (i.e. public toilets). The same percentage had sent texts from restrooms. It’s not the highest percentage – for example, while eating in a restaurant 70% had called and 73% had texted – but it makes for good headlines. The ‘restroom’ figures were higher for younger people and for women. [Press release via BusinessWire.com]
