O2 Arena to be ‘debranded’ for 2012 Olympics

Under the International Olympic Committee’s rules for branding, the O2 Arena will lose its name during the London 2012 Olympics. This is because O2 isn’t an official sponsor of the event. The arena will be used in 2012 for badminton and basketball; it’s currently being referred to as North Greenwich Arena 1 until owner AEG agrees an alternative name. [Source: BrandRepublic.com]
