O2 bringing free WiFi to Costa Coffee

O2O2 has agreed a partnership to provide Costa, the UK’s largest coffee shop chain, with free WiFi. Deployment has already started in London, with a national rollout due to continue throughout 2012. A single sign-up process gives users access to any of O2’s WiFi hotspots.

Gavin Franks, MD of O2 Wifi, said “We are hugely excited to partner with Costa. Coffee shops are seen as the traditional heartland for public access wifi and Costa is the largest coffee chain in the UK. We have shown how our innovative models works in new contexts such as London Metro wifi and this deal shows that it also works in more traditional contexts. It shows that people and businesses want fast, reliable wifi that’s easy to use and free no matter who you are.”

All Costa customers will receive 30 minutes of free WiFi access, while members of the ‘Coffee Club’ loyalty scheme will be given unlimited access.
