O2 updates its pay as you go loyalty scheme to offer upgrade discounts

O2 UK's Pay & Go loyalty scheme - O2 Rewards – has previously offered customers 10% of the money they spend as extra credit on their mobile phones.

It's now being updated to offer additional options. Although consumers can still claim their 10% extra as call time, they can also use it to get a discount off a new phone instead. Alternatively, the credit can be used to buy tickets at The O2 or to buy High Street Vouchers. Customers will be given a statement every three months.

O2 Pay & Go customers who joined before 1st July 2010 can get 10% back as soon as they opt in to the scheme; those who join after 1st July will receive 5% credit for the first six months and 10% thereafter.
