A couple of weeks ago we published some research from France, Germany and the UK that said most consumers were more inclined to save money by going out less often and not taking a holiday rather than switching to a cheaper mobile phone service.
There’s now some UK-specific research from the Post Office that says much the same thing. Apparently 21% of us would give up buying takeaway coffee and 15% would stop buying new shoes but only 4% would give up their mobile phones. The Post Office also says over one in ten of all consumers are currently thinking of switching from a ‘pay monthly’ to a ‘pay as you go’ tariff. [Source: Hellmail.co.uk]
