You wait ages for a network maintenance news story and then two come along at once. This one involves Orange outsourcing its 2G and 3G mobile network operations in the UK to Nokia Siemens Networks for the next five years. Around 470 staff will leave Orange as a result; approximately 230 are joining Nokia Siemens Networks and the remainder will be transferred to a first-line maintenance sub-contractor who's yet to be confirmed. [Press release] [Story now updated with correct headline: I'd written 'Nortel' not 'Nokia'. Oops - thanks to those who pointed it out]
