Orange UK is launching three new retail formats in the UK: franchises, community stores and multimedia stores.These will operate alongside its existing high-street stores and its concessions in HMV outlets.
Ten new Orange franchises are expected to open by the end of 2009, with the first franchise partner opening a shop in Bridlington, East Yorkshire, this summer.
Orange also opened its first Community Store today. The shop in Monmouth, Wales, is designed to combine customer service with a kind of ‘technology community centre’, offering coffee mornings and technology workshops for local people.
And September will see Orange opening its first Multimedia Store in Milton Keynes. This store will showcase the latest Orange products in a high-tech environment. [Press release]
