Palm drops Windows Mobile to focus on webOS

Palm has confirmed that it won’t be producing any more Windows Mobile-powered smartphones. Company CEO Jon Rubenstein made the announcement when talking about Palm’s Q1 financial results. He said all future development resources would be dedicated to webOS-based devices.

A total of 823,000 Palm devices were shipped during Palm’s first financial quarter of 2009, which is 134% up on the previous quarter but down 30% year-on-year. [Source: Yahoo.com]
