Hewlett-Packard (HP) is going to cut 9,000 jobs and will spend $1 billion over the next three years as it reorganises its data centre business. It's an ongoing part of its takeover of EDS, which happened almost two years ago. However, the company says it'll also be hiring an extra 6,000 staff, resulting in a net loss of 3,000 employees worldwide.
Last month HP bought smartphone manufacturer Palm.
