RIM acquires mobile social gaming company Scoreloop

Mobile social gaming company Scoreloop has been acquired by Research In Motion.

In a blog post, Tyler Lessard, who’s VP of Global Alliances & Developer Relations at RIM, said “We look forward to working with the team at Scoreloop to provide tools that will further enable our developer community to take gaming to a new level of social integration on the BlackBerry platform.”

Scoreloop, which offers a free software development kit that helps game developers, will continue its cross-platform approach but promises an ‘unparalleled’ approach to BlackBerry devices.
