Samsung Galaxy SIII becomes the company's new flagship

Samsung Galaxy S3Samsung Electronics has announced the GALAXY S III, the third generation of its flagship Android smartphone. The Samsung GALAXY S III runs Android v4.0 and is equipped with a 4.8-inch Super AMOLED display (1280 x 720 pixel) and an 8 megapixel rear-facing camera plus a 1.9 megapixel front camera and NFC connectivity.

It’s also equipped with voice and face recognition. Features include ‘smart stay’, which maintains a bright display all the time a user is looking at the screen, and voice control for a wide range of options.

JK Shin, President and head of Samsung’s IT & Mobile Communications Division, said “With the GALAXY S III, Samsung has maximized the consumer benefits by integrating superior hardware with enhanced smartphone usability. Designed to be both effortlessly smart and intuitively simple, the GALAXY S III has been created with our human needs and capabilities in mind. What makes me most proud is that it enables one of the most seamless, natural and human-centric mobile experiences, opening up a new horizon that allows you to live a life extraordinary.”

The Samsung GALAXY SIII will be available from the end of this month. Dimensions are 136.6 x 70.6 x 8.6mm; weight is 133g.
