Smartphone sales will overtake the number of standard mobile phones being sold by 2012, according to market research firm Infonetics Research. Its Mobile/WiFi Phones and Subscribers report says there’ll be a 14.5% increase in the number of smartphones sold worldwide in 2009, with a 21% compound annual growth rate predicted from 2008 to 2013.
