Social networking meets mobile apps at appitalism.com

Take social networking, take mobile apps, put them together and you’ve got… a new site called appitalism.com.

Appitalism.com describes itself as the first site to combine a social community with an online store. It has more than ten million apps, songs, books, games and videos available to download for smartphones, tablet devices, PCs and eBook readers. Apps can be found via a search engine, directory or recommendations.

Simon Buckingham, now CEO of Appitalism (and also founder and CEO of Mobile Streams), said “Appitalism was developed as an open marketplace, combining a large variety of content with the ability for consumers to discuss, review and rate that content. Our goal is to be the leading destination for consumers seeking to learn about and purchase the highest rated apps and content for any device.”
