Nokia proposes special in-car entertainment mode for smartphones

Nokia is at the 2010 Geneva Motor Show talking about ‘Terminal Mode’, a proposed industry standard that would enable smartphones to support in-car entertainment and information systems. It's also announced partnerships with Alpine Electronics and Harman Becker along with projects involving Valmet Automotive and Fiat.

The company sees a future where car information such as speed and fuel consumption could be integrated with navigation services on the smartphone.
