Facebook Places location-sharing service comes to the UK

facebookFacebook Places, the location-sharing service that potentially threatens stand-alone services such as Foursquare, is now available in the UK. It launched in the USA last month.

Facebook users can now 'check in' to places they visit, allowing friends to see where they are and showing who they're socialising with. The service can be accessed via the Facebook application for iPhone or from compatible GPS-equipped touchscreen phones visiting touch.facebook.com.
