There’s a new mobile-related legal battle – and this one’s between Huawei and Motorola.
Huawei Technologies has asked a US District Court to prevent Motorola from transferring Huawei's intellectual property to Nokia Siemens Networks.
Huawei and Motorola have worked together for the last ten years, with Motorola reselling Huawei wireless network products under the Motorola brand. However, Nokia Siemens Networks is about to finalise the acquisition of Motorola’s wireless network business… and Huawei doesn’t want confidential information passed from Motorola to NSN.
In a statement, Huawei said “Motorola's failure to adopt measures sufficient to ensure that Huawei's proprietary information remains confidential has compelled the company to file for the appropriate legal protection of its rights.”
