Burnside Telecom explains the benefits of mobile telecare

UK-based Burnside Telecom has recently announced a couple of telecare products that take advantage of the company’s expertise in producing ‘fixed cellular’ devices, so I’ve been talking to managing director Colin Aitken about these new products.

Burnside Telecom: the largest mobile phone manufacturer

You could probably describe Burnside Telecom as the world's largest mobile phone manufacturer. No, not production volumes - but the physical size of its products.

This UK-based designer and manufacturer produces a variety of mobile devices, from office-style 'desktop mobile phones' to the type of rugged outdoor telephone used at railway crossings.

UK appears split in 'landline versus mobile' debate

Research from Burnside Telecom has found that just over half of UK consumers (52%) would happily ditch their landline and go completely mobile, with 47% unwilling to give up their fixed-line phones.

The majority of people who wanted to keep their landlines were aged 65 and above; 73% of people wanting to keep fixed-line phones were in this age group.
