BT is rebranding its BT Fon and BT Openzone WiFi services, bringing them together under a single new brand of ‘BT Wi-fi’.
The company is the Official Communications Services Partner of the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games, managing half a million public hotspots across London including nine Olympic venues.

WiFi hotspot community Fon says it now has over four million Fon hotspots worldwide, up 30% from the three million hotspots it announced at the beginning of the year.
Martin Varsavsky, Fon CEO and founder of the five-year-old company, said "Four million hotspots is an amazing figure and proof that the Fon model works."

Mobile payment solution provider mopay has announced a global partnership with Fon, which describes itself as the world's largest WiFi network.
Fon is enabling mopay mobile payments, making it easier for smartphone and tablet users to pay for access to a Fon hotspot. Customers will be able to get WiFi access simply by providing their mobile phone number and adding the Fon cost to their mobile account.
