Juniper Research has forecast that $62 billion will be wagered on casino-type gambling and poker games via mobile handsets and tablets in 2018, more than six times the $10 billion wagered worldwide last year.
Much of this increase will be driven by the legalisation of online gambling services in parts of the USA, with more US-based services expected to launch during the next five years.

A surge in social gambling activity, coupled with the increase of legal casino and lottery services in the USA, will see a significant increase in the amount of money spent on mobile betting over the next five years. That’s the conclusion of a new report from Juniper Research.
It says last year’s total of just under $20 billion in mobile wagers is expected to reach $100 billion by 2017.
