European roaming charges reinstated after Brexit
UK telecoms regulator Ofcom has proposed new rules that would ensure UK customers are told about any roaming charges when using their mobile phones abroad. Its consultation will close on 28th September 2023.

Vodafone Ireland has signed a joint venture agreement with Irish energy company ESB to provide fibre optic broadband from 2015. It’s a €450 million project that’ll offer speeds of between 200Mbps and 1000 Mbps.
ESB began looking for a ‘fibre-to-the-building’ network partner in September 2012, eventually choosing Vodafone after a competitive tender process.

Simon Stanford, Vice President of Mobile & IT for Samsung UK and Ireland, has left the company.
He’d been with Samsung for almost five years, taking over the ‘Head of Mobile’ role in 2010 when Mark Mitchinson left.
