Apple is rumoured to be planning a wearable mobile device: the iWatch. Whether it’s an iPhone accessory or a stand-alone mobile phone… or a figment of overactive imaginations… remains to be seen, although press reports suggest it could be launched by the end of 2013.

BlackBerry has appointed two of the mobile industry’s best-known names to its board of directors.
They’re Dick Lynch, former Executive Vice President & Chief Technology Officer of Verizon Communications, and Bert Nordberg, the former CEO of Sony Ericsson.

Ericsson’s quarterly results show net income increasing 116% year-on-year from 4.1 billion krona in Q1 2011 to 8.8 billion krona this year, although the company’s sale of its share in Sony Ericsson accounted for most of this.
Sales decreased by 4% year-on-year.

Everything Everywhere says Nathan Vautier will join the company next month as Director of Indirect Sales for the Orange and T-Mobile brands.
He’ll report to Marc Allera, the company’s Chief Sales Officer.

Sony Mobile Communications has announced that Kunimasa ‘Kuni’ Suzuki will become President and CEO of Sony Mobile from 16th May 2012.
Bert Nordberg, the current President and CEO, will step down from these roles to become Chairman of the Sony Mobile Communications board.
