Two of the world's communications giants have agreed to merge their UK operations. Liberty Global will combine its Virgin Media UK broadband network with Telefonica's O2 UK mobile business.

In October, Ofcom revealed more information about its plans to auction the 2.3GHz and 3.4GHz radio spectrum it had received from the Ministry of Defence.
