Telefonica buys VoIP provider JAJAH

jajahTelefónica, the parent company of O2 UK, has bought voice over IP communications provider JAJAH for €145 million (£130 million). The deal is subject to formal clearance by the Spanish competition authority.

JAJAH offers a number of consumer and business services, including instant messaging, social media applications and VoIP. It'll continue to operate independently under its current brand but will now report into Telefónica Europe. [O2 Media Centre; JAJAH blog]
