The LG Mobile World Cup challenges the world's fastest texters

LG Electronics MobileComm USA Inc – the US part of LG's mobile phone business – hosted the inaugural LG Mobile World Cup in New York this week. Competitors took part in various challenges while typing phrases on LG mobile phones. The winning team that sent the fastest, most-accurate SMS messages was Young-Ho Bae and Mok-Min Ha from Korea. They were given $100,000 in prize money, with Morgan Dynda and Kate Moore from the United States claiming second place and Juan Ignacio Aufranc and Agustina Montegna from Argentina in third place. In addition to the main competition, Pedro Matias from Portugal typed a 264-character text in 1 minute 59 seconds, setting a new Guinness World Record.
