Theft and vandalism causes problems for O2 in south of England

O2O2 UK is reporting problems on its network in parts of London, Kent and East Sussex. It follows the theft of equipment from one of the company’s sites in East London early this morning.

Calls, text messaging and data services are all affected.

The company said it had continuity plans but wasn’t able to restore service immediately due to the nature of the theft.

Vodafone suffered similar problems earlier this year after a break-in at a network site in Basingstoke.
