There’s also a lot of potential for environmentally-aware mobile applications, according to the latest report from Juniper Research. It reckons the volume of ‘green’ application downloads to mobile handsets could exceed 400 million by 2014, helped by areas dedicated to green-themed mobile content and apps within operator and OEM application stores, although the figure could be as low as 192 million depending on the level of promotion by handset vendors and operators.
