Earlier this month, Research In Motion announced two new BlackBerry Bold handsets and three new BlackBerry Torch devices, all running the BlackBerry 7 operating system. It’s now following this up with news of three forthcoming BlackBerry Curve phones.

The BlackBerry Curve 9350, BlackBerry Curve 9360 and BlackBerry Curve 9370 smartphone will all use the new BlackBerry 7 OS as well. They’ve been designed to attract current ‘feature phone’ users as well as customers with older Curve models. The three phones all look similar, with the connectivity choices - CDMA, GSM and 3G - distinguishing them.

Mike Lazaridis, President and Co-CEO at Research In Motion, said “These new models will build on the incredible success of the BlackBerry Curve line and further expand the largest global launch of BlackBerry smartphones in our history. The new BlackBerry Curve smartphones are absolutely stunning and offer a significant performance upgrade with an unmatched mobile social experience for the millions of feature phone users in the market as well as our existing Curve customers.”

Each phone has a 2.44-inch screen, the familiar BlackBerry QWERTY keyboard and an optical trackpad, along with GPS and WiFi, a 5 megapixel camera, expandable memory and NFC support.

The phones are expected to be available in Canada this month and in other countries from September.
