Three-quarters of us will have Christmas interrupted by smartphones

77% of the UK's smartphone owners won’t get a proper break from work this Christmas because they'll be checking their mobiles for email messages, according to research by price comparison website rightmobilephone.co.uk. And of those people who'll be checking their phone for work messages, two-thirds will do it at least once a day. If that wasn't bad enough, 49% of respondents reckoned their smartphone checking would cause a row with family members this Christmas.

The main reason people gave for checking their email whilst on holiday was 'dedication'. Next came 'habit', followed by 'impressing the boss'.
