Tram driver crashes while sending text message

The conductor of a Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority trolley – a light railway train that looks like a modern tram – was apparently sending a text message to his girlfriend when he crashed into another tram in Boston on Friday night. 49 people were taken to hospital, although none were said to have life-threatening injuries. Last September, as we’ve mentioned in a number of previous reports, a train crash in California was blamed on an engineer texting while working. [Sources: Boston.com; AP on YouTube]
