Turn your mobile phone into a fluorescence microscope

Researchers in California have shown how a camera phone can be used for disease diagnosis and screening. They attached a ‘light microscope’ to a Nokia N73 handset and demonstrated that it was able to analyse blood samples in areas where laboratory facilities are unavailable. [Source: PLoS ONE]
