UK mobile mapping usage has increased 86% in the last year

comScore has released figures that show the UK has seen an 86% increase in the use of mobile mapping and direction services in the last year, resulting in 5.7 million mobile map users. Italy saw 53% annual growth to 4.9 million users and Germany had 79% growth, giving it 3.9 million mobile map users.

Across the five countries surveyed – the UK, Germany, France, Spain and Italy - 68.2% of people accessed mobile mapping services in a car or other vehicle. 35.3% used mobile mapping on public transport and 27% did so while walking, running or cycling.
