Mobile broadband revenue up 450% in 6 years

Researcher at Ovum say mobile broadband will generate $137 billion (£94 billion) globally in 2014, an increase of over 450% percent from 2008. The number of subscribers will grow even more dramatically, a rise of over 1000% from 181 million in 2008 to over two billion in 2014. Around 258 million of those users will be using laptops, while around 1.8 billion will be using mobile handsets. [Sources: TMCnet.com; Cellular-News.com]
